Every holder of a reconnaissance permit or prospecting licence or prospecting license-cum-mining lease, shall submit to the Controller General and Regional Controller or the authorised officer a scheme of reconnaissance or prospecting, as the case may, within a period of sixty days from the date of execution of the permit or licence, indicating the manner in which he proposes to carry out the reconnaissance or prospecting operations in the area covered under the permit or licence.

The scheme of reconnaissance or prospecting shall be prepared in the format as may be specified by the Indian Bureau of Mines from time to time:
Provided that in respect of minerals specified in Part B of the First Schedule to the Act where the grade of such atomic minerals is equal to or above the threshold value limits declared under Schedule-A of the Atomic Minerals Concession Rules, 2016, the scheme of reconnaissance or prospecting shall be prepared in the format as may be specified by the Director, Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research.
