This page explains how we source, digitize, organize, and maintain legal content on Law on Tips.
Bare Act texts are obtained exclusively from official government sources: the Gazette of India, India Code (indiacode.nic.in), and Parliament of India (sansad.in).
Official act texts (often in PDF format) are parsed using structured data extraction and manual verification. Each section is individually extracted, preserving the exact statutory language.
Acts are organized hierarchically: Act → Chapter → Section. Each section receives a permanent URL, structured metadata (JSON-LD), and cross-references.
For the three major 2023 criminal law replacements (IPC→BNS, CrPC→BNSS, IEA→BSA), we maintain section-level concordance tables from official government sources.
Content is updated when Parliament passes amendments, courts deliver landmark interpretations, users report errors, or new acts are notified.
