The Government may appoint for the whole of the State of Karnataka or any part thereof one or more Superintendents of Police as it may think fit,—
(1)
for the police wireless system;
(2)
for the police Motor Transport system; or
(3)
for the Railway Police; or
(4)
for the performance of such specific duties as the Government may from time to time determine in this behalf,
and the Superintendent so appointed shall exercise such powers and perform such functions as the Government may from time to time assign to him provided that such powers and functions shall be exercised or performed subject to the control of the Inspector-General.
