117. Seizure or attachment of property.

(1) Where any property in India is required to be seized or attached in connection with any proceedings in a contracting State, the Court of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate or the Chief Judicial Magistrate, as the case may be, having jurisdiction over such property may, on receipt of a request from the contracting State through the Central Government, order seizure or attachment of such property.

(2) All property seized or attached under sub-section (1) shall be dealt with in accordance with the order of the Court.
