(1) Where a tenant, other than a non-occupancy tenant, has heretofore paid his rent by batai, or partly by bighori and partly by batai, he may, apply to the sub-divisional officer to commute his rent paid by batai into bighori. (2) The sub-divisional officer shall, in accordance with the table of rates prepared in the prescribed manner, declare the bighori which such tenant shall be liable to pay.
