- The holder of a mining lease or the holder of a prospecting licence or prospecting license cum mining lease shall send an intimation in Form I of the Schedule to the authorised officer, as the case may be, within fifteen days after the commencement of any of the following operations, namely:-

(a) the sinking of trial shaft or borehole to a depth exceeding ten meters from the surface; or

(b) the extension of an existing shaft or borehole to a depth exceeding ten meters; or

(c) the sinking of a new shaft or boreholes commencing from underground workings:
