Save as otherwise provided in this Act, on and from the date of commencement of this Act, the following laws are hereby repealed (hereinafter referred to as "the repealed Acts "), namely :-

(a) The Maharashtra Betting Tax Act, 1925.

(b) The Maharashtra Purchase Tax on Sugarcane Act, 1962.

(c) The Maharashtra Advertisements Tax Act, 1967.

(d) The Maharashtra Forest Development (Tax on sale of Forest Produce by Government or Forest Development Corporation) Act, 1983.

(e) The Maharashtra Tax on Luxuries Act, 1987.

(f) The Maharashtra Tax on Entry of Motor Vehicles into Local Areas Act, 1987.

(g) The Maharashtra Tax on the Entry of Goods into Local Areas Act, 2002.

(h) The Maharashtra Tax on Lotteries Act, 2006.

Every registration certificate, licence or permission, as the case may be, granted under any of the repealed Acts or such repealed provision, shall stand cancelled with effect from the appointed day.
