- The Central Government shall, as soon as may be after the commencement of this Act, constitute a Committee called the Cyber Regulations Advisory Committee.
- The Cyber Regulations Advisory Committee shall consist of a Chairperson and such number of other members not exceeding fourteen, as the Central Government may think fit.
- The Chairperson and members of the Cyber Regulations Advisory Committee shall be appointed from amongst the members representing the interests of the categories namely—
- Department of Information Technology;
- Department of Telecommunications;
- Department of Legal Affairs (Ministry of Law and Justice);
- Ministry of Commerce and Industry;
- Ministry of Finance;
- Reserve Bank of India;
- representatives of the IT industry;
- consumer bodies;
- persons having special knowledge or practical experience in the matters relating to information technology, electronic governance, electronic commerce, and such other persons not exceeding three.
- The Cyber Regulations Advisory Committee shall advise—
- the Central Government either generally as regards any rules or for any other purpose connected with this Act;
- the Controller in framing the regulations under this Act.
- There shall be paid to the non-official members of such Committee such travelling and other allowances as the Central Government may fix.
