A court of competent jurisdiction may compound offences, other than offences for which the punishment for life or imprisonment for a term exceeding three years has been provided, under this Act.
The compounding of offences under sub-section (1) shall be done with the permission of the court before which the complaint is pending and where such offence is compounded, the court shall discharge the accused.
