The summons to appeal and answer shall order the defendant to produce [all documents or copies thereof specified in rule 1-A of Order VIII] [Substituted by the Code of Civil Procedure (Amendment) Act, 1999, Section 15, for " all documents " (w.e.f. 1.7.2002).] in his possession or power upon which he intends to rely in support of his case.

[Punjab].-Substitute the following for rule 7: "The summons to appear and answer shall order the defendant to produce all documents in his possession or power upon which he bases his defence or any claim for set-off and shall further order that where he relied on any other documents (whether in his possession or power or not) as evidence in support of his defence or claim for set-off, he shall enter such documents in a list to be added or annexed to the written statement."-(1-11-1966).
