Whoever intentionally runs or causes to be run any vessel aground or ashore, intending or knowing it to be likely that such running of the vessel aground or ashore will cause the destruction or render unsafe such vessel, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.
