The Commissioner may, if he thinks fit, cause any work described in [this Chapter] [The words 'this Chapter' were substituted for the original words by Bombay 5 of 1905, Section 37.] to be executed by municipal or other agency under his own orders, without first of all giving the person by whom the same would otherwise have to be executed the option of doing the same.

Expenses in such cases by whom to be paid

The expenses of any work so done shall be paid by the person aforesaid, unless the corporation shall, by a general or special order or resolution, sanction, as they are hereby empowered to sanction, the execution of such work at the charge of the municipal fund.
