When the entries required by clauses (a), (b) (c) and (d) of section 156 have been completed, as far as practicable, in any ward assessment book, the Commissioner shall give public notice thereof and of the place where the ward assessment book, or a copy of it may, be inspected.

Such public notice shall be given by advertisement in the [Official Gazette] [The words 'Official Gazette' were substituted for the words 'Bombay Government Gazette' by the Adaptation of Indian Laws Order in Council.] and in the local newspapers, and also by posting placards in conspicuous places throughout the ward [or by any other mode including electronic media as the Commissioner may think fit] [These words were added by Maharashtra 11 of 2009, Section 19, dated 13-4-2009 (w.e.f. 1-4-2010).].
