- The corporation shall from time to time appoint a fit person to be the Municipal Education Officer, who shall,-

(a) be subordinate to the Commissioner and subject to his orders shall exercise such of the Commissioner's powers and perform such of the Commissioner's duties in regard to primary [and Secondary] [These words were inserted by Maharashtra 21 of 1989, Section 14.] education, as the Commissioner may from time to time assign to him;

(b) receive such monthly salary [as the Corporation shall, from time to time, with the approval of the State Government, determine; but the salary of such officer shall not be altered to his disadvantage during his period of office; [This was substituted for the portion beginning with the words 'not exceeding' and ending with the words 'time to time determine' by Maharashtra 5 of 1970, Section 6, with effect from 1st April 1966.]

(c) be removable at any time from office by the Corporation for misconduct or for neglect of or incapacity for duties of the office.]
