The Commissioner may, by general or special order, either before or after institution of the proceedings, compound any offence made punishable under section 475A.

When an offence has been compounded under sub-section (1), no further proceedings shall be taken against the accused person in respect of the offence compounded and any proceedings if already taken, shall stand abated, and the accused person, fin custody, shall be discharged.]
